Badminton Club: Contact Chris (01228 712979). WHERE AND WHEN: Thursby Parish Hall. Mixed sessions on Mondays (7:30-9:30pm) and Wednesdays (7:00-9:30). The Thursby Badminton Club started in September 2010 thanks to our new Parish Hall having a badminton court. There is a membership of over 40 likeminded adults who like to keep fit and have fun at the same time. The Club sessions are set out above and members can also book the Hall for private badminton sessions, but for insurance purposes all players must be club members. The annual membership is £15 and the subs payable on the Club night are £2.50 on Mondays and £2 on Tuesdays. Ladies’ Sessions £2; Men’s Sessions £3.

WHERE AND WHEN: We play at The Ship Inn, Thursby and other pubs in the area on Thursday evenings October to April starting at 8:30pm. For away games meet at The Ship at 8:00pm. In 2012-2013 we are running two teams in the Wigton Pub Quiz League, which consists of 11 pubs. We play alternatively ‘home’ and ‘away’. We have about 20 members but more are always welcome.

The Craft Club is a group of 21 members who meet in a friendly informal setting to share varied craft activities e.g. beading, box making, embroidery to name but a few. We are a friendly group of people who like to talk and learn about plants and vegetables. In the winter we have monthly meetings with a presentation by an expert followed by a chat and cup of tea. During the summer we get out and about on trips to interesting gardens. Volunteers look after green spaces in Thursby and we co-ordinate Thursby In Bloom. Everyone welcome.
